La bottega d'intaglio Marelli fu avviata nel 1906 da Antonio Marelli. Il fondatore si avvicinò a questo lavoro sin da giovanissimo come garzone e dopo poco anche il fratello Luigi acquisì il lavoro di bottega.
Non si può dire con esattezza quando Antonio Marelli, nipote omonimo e successivo titolare, entrò ad imparare. Di certo, il mestiere d'intagliatore lo fece per ben 45 anni, con la stessa dedizione e passione con cui lo esercitavano lo zio ed il padre.
II lavoro eseguito nella bottega procede con un ritmo artigianale rimasto inalterato nel tempo. Al disegno, segue il modello in cartone quindi il prototipo a mano. Pezzi nati secondo questo procedimento si trovano un pò in tutto il mondo, come sull'organo dell'Abbazia di Montecassino, nel Campidoglio a Roma, nella Città del Vaticano, a Medina e nelle case di importanti personaggi dell'alta moda.
Nel 2008 la bottega è passata nelle mani di Rita, moglie di Antonio, che con impegno e dedizione cerca di dare il giusto valore ad una tradizione che ha più di cent'anni e il giusto risalto alle opere d'intaglio frutto di tanta passione e abilità artigianale.

Marelli's workshop has been started in 1906 by Antonio Marelli. The founder approached the job since he was young as an apprentice and soon after his brother joined him learning the woodcarving art.
We cannot exactly say when Antonio Marelli, the namesake nephew and present owner, joined the workshop. For sure he has been a woodcarver for more then 45 years with the same devotion and passion of his uncle and his father.
The activity in the workshop proceeds with a craft rhythm unchanged during the years. First cames the drawing then the cardboard model and finally the hand carved prototype. Pieces made according to this procedure can be found all over the world, from the Organ in Montecassino Abbey to the Campidoglio in Rome; from Vatican City to Medina and in the houses of famous fashion designers.
